About the Small and Medium Enterprise Service Center(SSC)

The Small and Medium Enterprise Service Center or SME Service Center(SSC) was established on February 17, 2017, under the cooperation between the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (DOSMEP)of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce(MOIC) and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry(LNCCI) representing the business sector in the Lao PDR, which has received financial and technical support from development partners, especially from the German government, which is responsible for encouraging and promoting entrepreneurs. It is a source of useful information for the business sector, such as information on access to funding sources, access to the market, access to information for capacity building, a place to meet and exchange information, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities of SSC:

The Small and Medium Enterprise Service Center (SSC) has a role as a coordinating unit and provides technical services to micro, small and medium enterprises in order to connect in the region to be able to compete in terms of quality and business services by cooperating with development partners in the government sector, business sector and international organizations, such as information on access to funding sources. Access to the market, access to information on capacity building, a place to meet and exchange information, etc. to promote the strengthening and development of enterprise units within the province in the country.

Duties of the Small and Medium Enterprise Service Center(SSC)

1. Supporting start-ups and building entrepreneurs at various levels;
2. Promote the development of entrepreneurs in Lao PDR for sustainable growth;
3. Develop comprehensive capacity to improve quality, increase productivity and improve the competitiveness of the country in priority sectors;
4. Support SME to join the regional and international chain
5. Promote SME into regional and international markets;
6. To strengthen the capacity and strength of organizations that promote SME at the central and local levels to be able to provide services according to the market mechanism;
7. Provide knowledge and disseminate information about the regulations, the state of development SME, integration and the effects of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC);
